Over the last couple of years E3 has been in a state of flux, first it was cancelled, then it was back, but only as a very scaled back press conference, none of this big show stuff from years gone by… But this year it’s back in full force! June 2nd - 4th!
If you’ve not sure what E3 is, it’s the Electronic Entertainment Expo (hence E3 for short) held in Los Angeles, where all the big names in the gaming industry come out to show of their latest and greatest upcoming games, consoles and other cool stuff. Here’s some of the cool new games that’s going to be on show this year:
Woohoo! Thief 4 has been announced, and by announced I mean an official website has launched with it’s logo, and pretty much no information.
What’s Thief and why should I care you ask? well it’s one of the best stealth games ever created:
Thief is a series of stealth video games where the player takes the role of Garrett, a thief in a fantasy/steampunk world resembling a cross between the Late Middle Ages and the Victorian era, with more advanced technologies interspersed.
If you’re interested to find out more Eurogamer recently ran a retrospective article about the first game, well worth a read. Also you can pick up the original 2 games for a bargain price.
It’s a quiet week for gamers out there this week, so I think I’m going to have to play through some games I missed when they first game out (a great way to play good games for the budget gamer). Here are some choice/recommendations to those out there looking for a good cheap game:

Last year Fallout 3 was released, and it was an awesome game! It’s an RPG with an action twist in a giant world for you to explore and exploit! But one of the great things about it has been the release of it’s downloadable content (DLC as it’s known).
It not only adds more content, but it changes the way the end of the game finishes allowing you to keep on playing it. That might sound odd if you’ve not played it, but let me tell you it’s a big thing if you have!
Since the game has been out for a while you’ll be able to get it at a great price now, and if you do get it you’ll be in for a treat!
Speaking of the new X-Men game (X-Men Origins: Wolverine), it’s looking like it’ll be a good film to game tie in, even Hugh Jackman thinks so:
Yahoo Games: Were you impressed with the quality of the writing in the videogame script?
Hugh Jackman: Yeah, absolutely, and in fact I was able to bring some of the lines of dialogue from the game script into the movie, because I liked how well it was written – the game production overlapped with the film, so it was possible to make those changes.
You can read the whole interview at Yahoo Games, or watch the latest trailer on Game Trailers to wet your appetite for the release later this week.
